The apartment is designed for a family of four, where three are above the age of sixty and the youngest is in his late twenties. The family loves hosting people and requires buoyant common spaces. The apartment opens into a large singular space housing the foyer, dining and living, The dining mimicking a courtyard wherein all rooms open. These spaces are demarcated by the flooring and ensemble of furniture. The overall interior scheme is simple and eclectic with use of vivid colours in common spaces which keep them lively while the bedrooms are dressed in undertones for a cosy turn-in. An almost camouflaged art installation of clay heads creates drama with a play of light and shadow on otherwise plain walls. The Lighting is designed minimally echoing lines on the walls and flooring. The crux of the ensemble lies in creating visual choreography between the under & overtones while trying to balance out small design gestures.
